Union Gospel Mission kicks off Thanksgiving food drive
UGM seeks food for Thanksgiving and throughout the year 

Portland, OR- Union Gospel Mission kicks off a Thanksgiving food drive in partnership with Pizza Schmizza stores this Friday. Union Gospel Mission is seeking donation of stuffing mix, gravy mix, instant mashed potato mix, canned yams and canned vegetables. Donation barrels are available at greater Portland area Pizza Schmizza locations.

Union Gospel Mission is preparing to serve as many as a thousand meals to homeless and needy people on Thanksgiving Day. Known at the Mission as “Love Your Neighbor Day” Union Gospel Mission sets up a large tent in front of the Mission and serves a traditional Thanksgiving meal. The Thanksgiving meal takes place in front of Union Gospel Mission located at 15 NW Third Ave., from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 24.

Union Gospel Mission is also accepting donations of non-perishable foods of all kinds in addition to donations for the Thanksgiving meal. These donations will help provide meals for needy individuals and families. In addition to holiday meals, Union Gospel Mission provides emergency food boxes, sack lunches and hot dinners every weekday. In 2004, Union Gospel Mission served 104,986 meals.
