Portland, OR- Thanks to a generous donation from Tillamook® Cheese, Union Gospel Mission will provide 500 grilled cheese sandwiches free for anyone in need on Friday, July 31 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The event will take place at the lot adjacent to Union Gospel Mission at the corner of NW 4th and Burnside.
As part of their 100th Anniversary celebration, Tillamook Cheese donated enough cheese, butter and bread to make 500 sandwiches available for the event.
“We are thankful for community partners like Tillamook Cheese, who are willing to do something extra for the community, and provide a meal and a fun event as part of their anniversary celebration,” said Bill Russell, Executive Director of Union Gospel Mission.
About Tillamook Cheese 100th Anniversary: In honor of Tillamook Cheese’s 100th Anniversary, Tillamook® Cheese is proud to partner with Union Gospel Mission whose mission is to serve meals to the homeless and needy in Portland. On top of providing the ingredients to create grilled cheese sandwiches for anyone on this special day at Union Gospel Mission, Tillamook Cheese is promoting “Cones for Coins” where each ice cream cone given for coins to a visitor to the event at Pioneer Courthouse Square on July 31st, the proceeds will go to Union Gospel Mission.
