Internship

Union Gospel Mission’s Fusion is designed specifically for youth and college groups to engage in holistic service-learning and leadership development in an urban setting. It includes an Internship program as well as Plunge experiences.

The word “fusion” indicates the change a substance undergoes to become molten. Molten is produced by melting a material in order to mold it. Our passion is to have young leaders shaped by relationships that press them to move beyond their borders of comfort and prior engagement. By training up young leaders to leverage their voice and influence to be advocates for the poor, we seek to cultivate co-laborers who are prophetic practitioners of biblical justice!

Internship

Mission: To provide an experience that will sharpen skills, shape intellect, deepen character and deploy leaders who will leverage their influence to seek justice for the poor and oppressed.

Fusion internships are unpaid, semester-long internships designed for undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. It is designed as an application of classroom study, providing opportunity for the integration of theory and practice (praxis). We seek a diverse cadre of interns who will bring their expertise to strengthen and refine each other as well as our organization and ministry. Interns are a vital part of our mission to train up leaders who will be life-long partners in feeding the hungry, restoring the addict and loving our neighbor.

Our hope is that through focused mentorship, intern collaboration and training, and hands-on experience, you would develop as a leader spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and relationally. We seek to unleash your unique interests and abilities, challenge your thinking, and offer you a platform for meaningful and transformative engagement.
