Union Gospel Mission to participate in “Christmas Kindness” event at Pioneer Courthouse Square
Three non-profits seeking donations of food, clothes and toys  

Portland, OR – Union Gospel Mission along with Portland Rescue Mission and Birch Community Services will be participating in the first-ever “Christmas Kindness” event at Pioneer Courthouse Square on December 18 from 10:00am – 6:00pm. The “Christmas Kindness” event is the work of Giving Globally, a Portland-based organization dedicated to serving non-profits.

The public is encouraged to bring donations of food, clothing, blankets and toys to the event. Donations will be collected by the various agencies, and volunteers will be serving free hot cocoa and cider, and the Gospel Outreach Youth Choir will provide entertainment.

“We’re thankful when we can partner in creative events such as ‘Christmas Kindness’ and give people a fun and easy way to help,” said Bill Russell, Executive Director of Union Gospel Mission.

Items needed at Union Gospel Mission include winter clothing, blankets, and non-perishable food items such as canned foods, cereals, and boxed foods. People interested in participating in the “Christmas Kindness” event can visit www.christmaskindness.org, or drop off donations at the December 18 event at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland.
