Union
Gospel Mission seeks donations of food, clothing for Christmas
event for Portland's homeless and needy
Portland,
OR- On Christmas Day, Union Gospel Mission providing brunch and
gifts for Portland's homeless and needy. Last Christmas, Union
Gospel Mission served 644 meals. Union Gospel Mission is preparing
to serve ham, mashed potatoes, yams, vegetables, rolls, coffee
and pie for dessert. Ham tops the list as the most needed item
for the meal.
Demand for meals has increased throughout the year and 1,305 meals
were served at Union Gospel Mission's Thanksgiving event.
Hats, scarves,
gloves and other warm clothing will be given as gifts at the event.
Large sized coats are an item especially in demand by homeless
and needy people who come to the Mission for assistance.
Union Gospel
Mission is seeking donations of hams, coffee and gravy. Food and
clothing donations can be dropped off at Union Gospel Mission
at 15 NW Third Ave.
Individuals
